Foot massage is usually gentle and safe, but it should be avoided or postponed if you have any of the following:
- Blood clot risk (deep vein thrombosis / DVT) or acute phlebitis
- Fever or a contagious illness
- Active infection on the feet (fungal, bacterial), open wounds, or inflamed skin
- Unstable fracture, recent injury, or recent surgery in the area
- Significant swelling (edema), especially if linked to heart or kidney conditions
- Reduced sensation (for example, diabetes-related neuropathy), or if you bruise/bleed easily (including certain medications)
Pregnancy: please tell us in advance. We can adapt techniques, but if you have a high-risk pregnancy or you’re unsure, check with your healthcare provider first.
If you’re unsure whether foot massage is appropriate for you, share your situation with us before booking so we can guide you safely.
